A little bit about me...
Melissa Bartlett is a seasoned real estate broker, team leader, and lifelong advocate for the Excelsior Springs community. She proudly co-leads the Hightower Heritage Real Estate Team alongside her stepfather, Bill Hightower, continuing a family real estate legacy that began in 1982. Melissa joined the business in 2004 and has spent more than two decades helping buyers and sellers navigate the real estate market throughout Excelsior Springs, the Northland Kansas City area, and surrounding communities in Missouri and Kansas.
Licensed in both Missouri and Kansas, Melissa earned her Kansas real estate license and broker license in 2019, expanding the team’s leadership and reach across state lines. After more than 25 years with ReeceNichols Realtors, the team made an exciting transition in 2025 to The Jason Mitchell Group, blending trusted local expertise with innovative marketing, technology, and national support.
Melissa and Bill now co-lead a team of 10 dedicated real estate professionals who live, work, and raise families in Excelsior Springs and the surrounding region. In 2025, Melissa proudly welcomed her daughter, Avery, to the team—representing the third generation of the Hightower family in real estate and continuing a legacy of service deeply rooted in the community.
Deeply committed to giving back, Melissa serves on the Excelsior Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Excelsior Springs Community Health Foundation, is an active member of the Excelsior Springs Christmas Committee, and recently began delivering meals through the local Meals on Wheels MVP program. Her dedication has been recognized with the Downtown Partnership Excellence Award for volunteer service and the 2024 Community Excellence Award for Best Realtor.
Outside of real estate, Melissa is a proud mother of three and a new grandmother. Her oldest, Brayden, recently welcomed her first grandchild; her middle child, Avery, is engaged to be married in 2026; and her youngest, Addison, attends Missouri Valley College, where she plays collegiate softball.
